There are few skills I value more than speed. If I were a gambler, I’d put my money on the “fast and good enough” tandem over team “slow and perfect” every time. But once in a while you need both speed and accuracy. For example, when you create content that relates directly to a brand other than your own. It’s with this balance in mind that I introduce A History of Dreamforce, an infographic that was in the works for more than three months before being published today.

The “History of” / “State of” category of infographics relies heavily on collaboration between the content creator and the subject. Nobody understands this delicate relationship better than our content partner, JESS3, who designed the timeless “State of Wikipedia” infographic and video. Their collaboration with Wikipedia ran so deep that the site’s co-founder, Jimmy Whales, narrated the JESS3 video.
We applied this principle last spring when we released The History of SXSW infographic, and we followed it again with A History of Dreamforce. We are thrilled that 100% of the data – the lifeblood of all great infographics – behind A History of Dreamforce was supplied by Salesforce.com, then painstakingly visualized by our friends at JESS3. Sometimes “doing it right” takes more time than simply “getting it done.” We hope you agree that the benefit of collaboration is reflected in the quality of output.
Enjoy this visualization of the growth of cloud computing’s most important event. And if you attend, please swing on past the Eloqua booth (#717). We’ll be sure to have some copies of the infographic on hand to share. Just be sure to get to our booth first. After all, when supplies are in short order, being first matters most!
